    Understanding our licensing model is important

    MOHOBOOK is licensed on a *per website* basis. When you place your order, you are asked for the domain name of your website. When we receive your order, a special version of MOHOBOOK is created with an association to this domain, and only this domain. To be more specific, if you supply us with example.com, MOHOBOOK will run on example.com and www.example.com, but not on demo.com. By having such a security measure in place, we are able to keep the cost of MOHOBOOK affordable.

    If you are purchasing MOHOBOOK for the Frontdesk only, it is still necessary to have a domain and web hosting to install and access the application (it is best to provide a domain name that you are likely to use in the future). If you don't have a domain name yet, they are affordable, as is quality web hosting.

    Is MOHOBOOK a service or software?

    MOHOBOOK is PHP software installed on your own website. We do not host, store or rent any part of the application (excluding licensing).

    Is it difficult to install MOHOBOOK?

    In 95% of cases, it only requires a small snippet of code be added to your website on whichever page you would like the booking engine to appear. The application is bundled with detailed installation instructions that walk you through the procedure. We also offer installation for a nominal one-time fee.

    How often do I need to renew my license?

    MOHOBOOK is a one-time purchase, your license does not need to be renewed and you will always have access to the latest updates.

    Is support included when I purchase MOHOBOOK?

    When you purchase MOHOBOOK, you are entitled to 60 days of support. If you require support after this period, it can be purchased on a per incident basis. If the problem is a result of a software bug, it may be that you haven't installed the latest version (which is always free for registered users).

    What are the minimum system requirements?

    MOHOBOOK was designed to function based on minimum requirements, even in inexpensive shared hosting environments. Please refer to the system requirements page for exact details.

    What if I buy MOHOBOOK and can't install it, or simply don't like it?

    Although we’re confident you will absolutely love MOHOBOOK, we don’t want you to make a final decision until you successfully install it. Therefore if you’re not entirely happy with your purchase within the first seven days, we’ll refund your money in full as per our license agreement.

    I own a motel but I don't have a website, can I still use MOHOBOOK?

    No, you require a domain name that points to a functional web space, even if nothing exists in this is space other than MOHOBOOK (domain names and web hosting are extremely affordable).

    I have more than one property but only one website, can I still use MOHOBOOK?

    Sorry, not at this time. Multiple location support is a consideration for future development. For now, you will require a license for each location.

    Why does MOHOBOOK only run on one website?

    If you have been shopping for booking software, you're probably aware some of the solutions available to you are quite expensive. Our way of bringing you a competitive product, at a reasonable price, is to enforce per website licensing.

    Does MOHOBOOK only manage online bookings?

    No, in addition to the booking engine, MOHOBOOK comes complete with a Frontdesk module that lets you to manage all of your reservation types (including phone-ins and and walk-ins) through one convenient interface.

    Does MOHOBOOK handle online payments?

    In the current version of MOHOBOOK, you have the option of receiving your guest's credit card details by fax (which is transparent to the guest). In future versions, MOHOBOOK may also support real-time credit card processing (although most property owners would prefer to handle payment processing when the guest arrives, therefore simply having their credit card details on file is preferred).

    Does MOHOBOOK handle offline payments?

    MOHOBOOK was not designed as a cash register, the goal of the software is to provide property owners with an affordable method of capturing the massive online booking market, as well as an intuitive way to manage other reservation types from a single interface.

    Does MOHOBOOK have the same features as my existing software?

    MOHOBOOK is a feature-rich web-based application and it may or may not have every feature your existing software has. Keep in mind there is a fine line between necessary features, and bloating an application with rarely-used features. It is also important to understand there are many differences between Windows-based and Web-based applications, both from a development standpoint and a usability standpoint.     Can I test MOHOBOOK before I buy it?

    Do I receive the software immediately after I pay for it?

    What happens if I want to change the domain name MOHOBOOK is associated with?

    Transferring your license to a new domain name is free the first time (a nominal fee may apply for subsequent transfers).

    What if my web hosting company doesn't meet the system requirements?

    Can you install MOHOBOOK for me?

    Do I need a merchant account to use MOHOBOOK?

    No, MOHOBOOK does not process credit cards in real-time, although you can optionally receive your guest's credit card details by fax for future transactions using your on-site terminal.

    Do you take commissions from my bookings?

    No, we are software developers and feel once you purchase the application it should be to your benefit to use and profit from it.

    Are there any hidden costs?

    No, other than the cost of the software, the only other expense you may incur from us is if you wish to transfer MOHOBOOK to a different domain name (free the first time). As far as additional costs from other providers, there will only be the following, and only if you wish to collect guest's payment info; an SSL certificate ($25 to $75 per year on average) plus an InterFAX account (roughly $10 per 100 faxes/bookings).

    Do my guests require a credit card to make a reservation?

    If you have the payment screen enabled, then yes. Keep in mind a guest is more likely to honour their reservation if they are asked to enter their credit card when confirming a booking. Otherwise, you can opt to suppress the payment screen and no payment information will be collected from your guests.

    Does MOHOBOOK integrate with online travel agencies such as Expedia or Booking.com?

    Sorry, not at this time.

    Do I have access to the source code?

    All core application files, including JavaScript and PHP files, are encrypted using proprietary encoding technology in order to protect our intellectual property rights. Excluding HTML, CSS and third-party scripts, MOHOBOOK is not an open source application.
